Our Commitment
AdvOrtho is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make our website usable by as many people as possible.
Conformance Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Features
AdvOrtho includes the following accessibility features:
- Skip-to-main-content link for keyboard navigation
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
- Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
- ARIA labels on interactive elements including icon-only buttons
- Sufficient color contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA standards
- Keyboard-navigable interface throughout the site
- Responsive design that works across all screen sizes
- Focus indicators visible on all interactive elements
- Form labels associated with their input fields
- Error messages positioned near the relevant form fields
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:
- The interactive US state map on the homepage relies on mouse hover for state names. State names are available via hover tooltips and all states are accessible via the Browse by State page.
- Some third-party content (embedded maps, authentication forms) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
- PDF documents linked from external sources may not be fully accessible.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
AdvOrtho is designed to be compatible with current versions of screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. The site works with standard keyboard navigation and voice control software.
